Construction Update:
The steel trusses and decking are in place for the roof and the contractor has installed about 40 per cent of the air and vapour barrier and roof insulation. Crews have installed insulated metal panels on three of the building’s exterior walls and the south side of the building will be competed soon. Inside the building, masonry block work is nearing completion and the plumbing, electrical and mechanical work is ongoing.
Schedule and Budget:
The project continues to be on schedule for completion by September 2017 and on budget for $20.6 million. Close to $3 million has been spent on local contractors and suppliers to date on the project. The North Cariboo Arena Replacement Project is a joint initiative of the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) and City of Quesnel under the CRD’s North Cariboo Recreation and Parks function.
